Joan & Bill Atkinson are the parents of seven children, and seventeen grandchildren. Bill is a retired Engineer and Joan a retired Teacher.

Joan comes from an RLDS background, but grew up less-active in the church. Heavenly Father rescued her, revived her, and set her on an incredible journey. Later on in this journey, alone, as the mother of five children, she went to a bar and picked up Bill, who was pretty drunk. All he could talk about was how much money he had just lost in Vegas, and she was thinking, "That could have fed my family for a year." Heavenly Father told her he was the one, so she sobered him up. Slam dunk, he was baptized, and the rest is history--Or is it?

They had two more children. Just about the time when they thought they were sailing smooth, they hit a tidal wave, that would put them in the closet.
